8. Swashbuckler

One of the things we’ve yet to see from Nightcrawler is him using a sword. Granted, there hasn’t been a lot of time to display this skill on-screen. He’s only been in three movies. In the MCU, however, this should be something that’s established early on.

Kurt is amazing with a sword and fancies himself a swashbuckler. Throughout his time in Marvel comics, he has dressed and fought like a pirate. He would swing from chandeliers and ropes like he’s Jack Sparrow in Pirate of the Caribbean. Except, when Nightcrawler does it, it’s more skill than calamity. Adding this to his repertoire on the big screen would pave the way for more exciting action scenes and, more importantly, separate him from other characters.

7. Faith in religion and the X-Men

Faith and religion is a crucial part of Nightcrawler’s personality. He initially believed in Christianity. However, since X-Men No.7, he’s had an idea of a different kind of faith. This leads to his faith being more about the good in people (See Way of X and X-Men: Onslaught Revelation for more on that).

Some viewers don’t respond well when the topics of religion or politics are brought up in superhero projects, but it is a big part of Kurt’s identity, so it’s hard to imagine him not having some faith. That said, Marvel Studios could always adapt his more recent faith in the good in people. It may not be perfect, but it would still work.
