6. Kind-hearted

Of all the main X-Men, no one is as gentle as Nightcrawler. Thankfully, this is something that’s been well represented in everything he’s appeared in (except in Age of Apocalypse). Not having this in a future adaptation would be like giving Deadpool optic blasts.

Kurt may be a fighter, but he’ll never be a killer. He abhors it. When he found out that Cyclops had a kill squad (X-Force) he almost quit the X-Men (Second Coming). This has to be a focal point of his personality. Not just from a religious standpoint. Kurt doesn’t need the idea of eternal punishment to be a good person. He does it because it’s the right thing to do.

5. The X-Men’s funny man

Along with Iceman, the comedy aspect was missing from Nightcrawler in the movies. Kurt isn’t as goofy as Deadpool or Spider-Man, but he’s still funny. His levity has helped keep the X-Men cheerful in times of need. Considering that the X-Men are almost always in danger, he’s had more than enough time to hone this skill.

Nightcrawler will fit right in with MCU’s style of comedy. While Wolverine’s humor is more malicious and Deadpool’s can be perverse, you have Kurt whose quips will be different. His jokes are family-friendly. Adding variety is another trait that will make Nightcrawler stand out.
