4. Trust

Nightcrawler has been a leader on more than a few X-teams. Even when he’s not, people still follow him. His example is more than enough to motivate his teammates into battle. Not just in a fight, though. People look at him as someone that they should aspire to be like. In the new era of Krakoa, he’s become that more than ever.

Legion is an unstable omega level mutant but in Way of X, he went to Kurt because he was the only person he could trust. Mind you, it’s not as if Legion has anything but a bad relationship with the X-Men. Yet, he knew that Nightcrawler wouldn’t immediately cast him away. This is the kind of confidence Kurt brings out in people. Not even Cyclops has that.

3. A good look

Nightcrawler’s previous live-action looks weren’t all that memorable. Before getting into this section, this writer had to look him up just to remember what he looked like. After seeing it again, it’s safe to say he looked more like a cute stuffed animal than a demon in both X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. That can’t happen again. He doesn’t have to be scary, just not too cutesy.

Nightcrawler must stand out. Even when he’s standing still, his tail should be moving. He’s got to have three fingers, two toes, yellow eyes, elf ears, and sharp canine teeth. One thing that can be left out are the scars on his face. It’s a bit much and unnecessary.
