Batman: Why you should live in Gotham City (and why you definitely should not)
By Mark Lynch
Becoming a hero
There is a high possibility of becoming a hero in Gotham and a lot of good things come with it. Among them is becoming a member of the Bat-Family. If you happen to be a hero that shows potential during one of Batman’s many escapades, you could join him. You’ll get a Bat-symbol on your chest, cool gadgets, and more. And, if you’re a kid, you could be Robin!
With the hero life comes popularity. You’ll be looked at as one of the saviors of the worst city in the world. And, if you’re good enough, this could lead to you joining other teams. The Justice League, Teen Titans, or a created team of your own.
You could become a hero
However, the hero life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Multiple heroes in Gotham City have died either protecting the city or just because Joker was bored on a Tuesday afternoon. People also make being a hero sound glamorous when it’s a lot of work, especially when Batman is your boss. The never-ending training in the Bat-Cave, the condescending attitude and comments, and his random angry outbursts when they have nothing to do with you are all possibilities. It may not be worth it.
