Marvel is no stranger to hiding Easter eggs within its shows and movies, as evident in the hidden Moon Knight QR code featured in the second (and first) episode of the series!

If you’re a longtime Marvel fan, you’ve likely become accustomed to keeping your eyes peeled during every Marvel show and movie in search of the many Easter eggs sprinkled into the various offerings.

Marvel has become known for sneaking in countless Easter eggs used as nods to its comic book origins, past films and sometimes even to foreshadow upcoming plot points. For this reason, fans are always on the lookout when watching new Marvel shows and movies in hopes of finding the hidden Easter eggs Marvel has snuck in for its fans.

For this reason, it’s unsurprising that fans have been quick to discover what might be one of the most fun and unique Easter eggs to have ever been incorporated into a Marvel Cinematic Universe property: a hidden QR code that contains quite a surprise for those who find it.

Moon Knight QR code explained

In the first episode of Moon Knighta QR code can be seen briefly on the wall next to an Egyptian artifact on display at the museum where Steven works. If you happen to scan the code, you’re taken to a website on Marvel.com which provides you with a special surprise: access to a free Moon Knight comic book that helped to inspire the series.

For the first surprise release, fans were able to read Werewolf by Night #32, the comic in which the character of Moon Knight made his first official appearance. However, that was just the beginning of the hidden Moon Knight QR code Easter eggs!

In the second episode of Moon Knight, Steven discovers that the mystery key he found hidden away with the cell phone that also belonged to Marc was for a storage locker. When he goes to investigate the locker, a QR code is seen clearly next to the locker number as Steven attempts to unlock the locker.

If you scan the code, you’re once again redirected to the Marvel.com website where you’re able to read yet another virtual comic book. This time around, the Moon Knight QR code appears to grant you access to Werewolf by Night #33 which is a nice way for fans to follow the comic book storyline where it left off in the previous issue released after episode 1.

Given Marvel instructs fans to check back weekly for more exclusive Moon Knight comic books, it seems safe to assume a new comic will release every Wednesday timed to the arrival of a new episode of Moon Knight season 1.
