"“Do you want death, or do you want life?” – Khonshu"

2. Raoul Bushman and Moon Knight is born

In episode 4 of Moon Knight, Layla El-Faouly confronted Marc about the death of her father. Arthur Harrow told her that Marc killed him. When Layla confronted him, Marc said he didn’t. Despite the comic book source material, there was no guarantee that he was telling the truth. The flashback in episode 5 shows that Marc was being honest. It was actually Raoul Bushman.

Just like the Marvel Comics, a fight between Marc and Raoul Bushman causes Marc’s death. That leads to Marc becoming Moon Knight.

This scene was flawlessly executed. Seeing Khonshu first speak to Marc and the transformation into the protector of the night travelers was incredible. It was the origin Moon Knight fans were waiting to see.

1. Steven and Marc are separated

As if this episode wasn’t sad enough, the ending is morose as well. Steven finally stepped up in a fight. He realizes that since him and Marc are the same that he can fight too. It was a heroic scene that saved Marc’s life. Unfortunately, it didn’t save Steven, as he ends up being taken to the underworld while saving Marc’s life.

There are two things to think about going forward. First, how will Layla El-Faouly react to Steven’s death? She seemed to be falling hard for Steven. Second, there may be a third personality. Who knows why he was created. Maybe so Marc doesn’t have to be a killer.
