DC Comics greatest super team, the Justice League, was killed before Dark Crisis begins.

The Justice League is one of the greatest teams in all of comic books. They’ve been together and saving their universe and others since 1960. That’s over 60 years of galactic heroics.

Over the years, almost every member of the team has died at one point in time. However, each of them came back at some point in time. But something feels different about this one.

DC Comics announced the Death of the Justice League right around the time their newest team was getting used to each other. Black Adam came back to the team while Naomi and Hippolyta are newcomers. It’s also a year after DC Comics Future State. A series that showed a world with a lot of the Justice League members dead or in different places in their lives. In Justice League No. 75, we saw DC Comics’ greatest super team killed.

A being named Pariah was being used by something called The Darkness. An entity that’s said to be neither good nor bad. Although, the destruction of multiple universes is bad in this writer’s opinion. After the Justice League held off some of the strongest and scariest villains being controlled by The Darkness, Pariah killed them, Justice League Incarnate and everyone else who came to help.

The only ones left alive were Black Canary (who was mourning Green Arrow’s death by Darkness-controlled Doomsday) and Black Adam.

Black Adam tried to fight Pariah, but even all of his godly powers were no use. He was severely beaten and barely made it back to Earth. Thankfully, he got the chance to tell the remaining heroes that their teammates were dead and trouble was coming.

Let’s be honest, most of the DC Comics heroes will be back. Some of them like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman will likely return sooner than others. They make too much money for the company to be off the shelves for an extended period of time. However, The Flash, John Stewart, and Green Arrow and others could stay gone for over a year before they’re truly missed. But, honestly, they’ll probably all be back by the end of  DC’s Dark Crisis event.
