Tom Ellis suits up as Doctor Strange in stunning new image

Tom Ellis might not appear in Doctor Strange 2, but the Lucifer actor has shared a stunning new photo showcasing what could have been! 

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has officially opened in theaters and the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe definitely has delivered upon its promise for cameos fans won’t soon forget.

Across the film, director Sam Raimi managed to incorporate some truly amazing cameos that helped to bring both new and returning actors into the fold. There are a lot of cameos to take in, as promised, but there is one actor we can confirm you won’t see pop up anywhere in the film. That actor is Lucifer star Tom Ellis.

While Ellis was never attached to the project in any way, he seems to be a massive Doctor Strange fan and has given fans their look at what could have been had Marvel extended an invitation to join the MCU.

In celebration of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘s release in theaters, Lucifer‘s leading man Tom Ellis celebrated as any true fan should: by suiting up in full costume as the Master of the Mystic Arts!

Taking to Instagram, Ellis suited up as Doctor Strange rocking the character’s signature costume complete with his iconic Cloak of Levitation and Eye of Agamotto. But Ellis didn’t just stop with the attire, no he went all-in and even rocks Strange’s iconic white streaks.

“Doctor Strange is out today!!! I’m not in it,” Ellis wrote in the caption having a bit of fun as a nod o the many rumors that circulated leading up to the film’s release which had everyone from Iron Man to Mr. Fantastic rumored to appear.

While the post was in fun, we have to confess that Ellis makes a pretty good Doctor Strange and we’re sort of disappointed he hasn’t been lured to the MCU! While the role of Doctor Strange isn’t likely to be recast anytime soon, there are so many incredible characters who have yet to make their MCU debut that Ellis would be perfect for!
