Jennifer Lawrence wows as Sue Storm, a.k.a. the Invisible Woman, of the Fantastic Four in this amazing image.

The Fantastic Four are on their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the very near future. The heroic foursome will make their MCU debut on the silver screen in their third self-titled solo feature in November 2024, but this release is more monumental (and anticipated) as they are home in the MCU.

An initial announcement made back at Disney Investor Day 2020 revealed that a Fantastic Four movie was in the works at Marvel Studios. The director of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming trilogy, Jon Watts, was then set to direct but he subsequently stepped down, with it then being confirmed that WandaVision‘s Matt Shakman would direct.

After nearly two years of mystery in regards to its release date, it was confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con back in July 2022 that the film will release on November 8, 2024 (instead of the once-teased 2023 release window), being the opener of Phase 6.

While production on the Fantastic Four movie is still some time off in the distance, fans are excited at the prospect of seeing Marvel’s First Family make their MCU debut in the coming years. As for who will play the characters, audiences were hoping an announcement would come at D23, but it was not to be. However, they also have their ideal fan-castings to talk about while they wait.

One name that has been closely associated with the role of Sue Storm a.k.a. the Invisible Woman over the last few years is Jennifer Lawrence. And after you see this stunning image of her, it’s easy to see why she’s a favorite too.

Using an image of Jessica Alba from the classic Fantastic Four film series as a base, digital artist nova_mcu showcased an amazing piece of artwork on Instagram that imagines what Jennifer Lawrence could look like in the role of Sue Storm/Invisible Woman if she were to play the heroine in the MCU.

Lawrence certainly looks the part in the fan concept – so much so that it raises the question if we could ever see her don another super-suit in her career. Could the stunning image ever become a reality?

Is Jennifer Lawrence playing Sue Storm in the MCU?

Jennifer Lawrence’s first surfaced in the Sue Storm conversations almost two years ago after reports that claimed she was preparing to film the movie in Australia made their way online. Those reports and rumors were quickly debunked (particularly because the movie was nowhere near ready to begin filming) but it all has left fans wondering what Lawrence could be like in the role – and if it could happen in the future.

Another star closely associated with Sue Storm is Emily Blunt – who fans have been calling for Marvel Studios to cast in the role for quite some time now (along with her real-life husband John Krasinski as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic – the latter of which became a reality in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).

Adding to that, more recent rumors suggest Marvel is interested in potentially casting the likes of Supergirl‘s Melissa Benoist, Natalia Dyer, or Jodie Comer in the film. Whether or not that’s true remains to be seen.

Of course, if this fanart is anything to go by, Jennifer Lawrence would make a great Invisible Woman. Moreover, she’s also very familiar with the superhero genre, having played Mystique in Fox’s X-Men franchise – a role that she played very well.
