Did Mike Colter’s picture with Krysten Ritter on Instagram tease a comeback Marvel team-up for Luke Cage and Jessica Jones on Disney Plus?

All of the Netflix Marvel shows came to an end in 2019. In normal circumstances, this might seem like it was due to the low ratings and lack of viewers but it was clear that wasn’t the case and that there was more going on here.

Less than two years later, Disney got the rights to the characters from the Marvel Netflix shows back, with fans believing the stage was set for the characters to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This may sound like this writer is crazy Charlie Day in It’s always Sunny, but, it doesn’t end there.

In 2021, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home. A moment that fans in the theater were excited to see. All of this seems like momentum going into bringing the Man Without Fear to Disney Plus. Then, it was confirmed, as a Daredevil show is in the works for the streaming service.

But Daredevil may not be the only former Netflix hero coming to Disney Plus. Are Luke Cage and Jessica Jones next?

Are Jessica Jones and Luke Cage coming back to Marvel Studios?

Mike Colter and Krysten Ritter have a great friendship outside of the Netflix shows they starred in. There are tons of pictures of them together having fun off set. They wish each other a happy birthday, smile, and certainly look to have a blast whenever they’re together. Recently, the two buddies posted the same picture two their individual Instagram accounts. The only difference is the captions. Krysten Ritter just tagged Mike Colter and added a heart emoji. Colter’s said, “Big Tease #marvel #thedefenders #lukecage #jessicajones”

If this writer is being honest, this may mean nothing at all. A quick post with a few choice hashtags and fans are definitely excited. However, if you’re a fan of the character and co-star of the popular show Evil, this could mean a resurgence of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.

Jessica Jones and Luke Cage both ended abruptly. Jessica Jones was still hearing Purple Man’s voice and decided to stay in New York. Luke Cage became the new Kingpin of Harlem. On top of the way their stories end, there’s the two’s comic book story. Fans of the duo in Marvel Comics never got to see them get married.

The two have a lot left to offer fans. This writer believes the shows would be even better on Disney Plus. Hopefully, Mike Colter’s post is the tease fans are hoping for. There’s a lot left for Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and the rest of the Defenders to accomplish. Here’s hoping it happens on Disney Plus.
