Madame Web: Emma Roberts is the newest addition to Sony’s Marvel movie

Emma Roberts has been cast in Sony’s Marvel Comics movie Madame Web and this is a smart move. 

Sony’s Marvel division has gone full force when casting for their Madame Web movie. First, Dakota Johnson was selected to play Madame Web in the Spider-Man spin-off. There is a lot of buzz surrounding the title character as she is said to be more of a Doctor Strange-like character.

Next up was Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney. A casting that’s going to bring in multiple viewers who are fans of the HBO Max drama. Also cast are Celeste O’Connor from 2012’s Ghostbusters and Freaky and Isabela Merced from Dora and the Lost City of Gold and Transformers: The Last Knight. All of these young actress have a ton of potential and are undoubtedly smart casting decisions by Sony.

Say what you will about Sony movies, but, as you can see above, casting hasn’t been the issue. It looks like Sony knocked it out of the park again with another brilliant selection. According to the Variety, American Horror Story, Scream Queens, and We’re the MIllers’ star Emma Roberts is Madame Web’s newest addition.

Who could Emma Roberts play in Madame Web?

As of now, Emma Roberts’ character has yet to be announced. If this writer had to guess, she could play the antagonist. Roberts is second-to-none when playing antagonistic roles. Likely villain castings could be a twist on the villain White Rabbit or Screwball. If it isn’t a villain, Betty Brant and a live action Gwen Stacy (Spider-Woman/Ghost Spider) could be picked as well.

It doesn’t matter who Emma Roberts plays. She has the skills to bring any Spider-Man character to life. With the right creative team, she could make them bigger than they are in Marvel Comics. Who knows, Sony could be creating a character specifically for her.
