Disney Plus’ Obi-Wan Kenobi has been one of the biggest hits of the year, but will the series be unveiling a seventh episode tonight or has its run come to an end?

Ewan McGregor made his much-anticipated return to the role Obi-Wan Kenobi just a few short weeks ago. Portraying the character in the long-awaited Disney Plus series, he brought Obi-Wan back for an adventure unlike any he had been on before.

Set between the prequel Star Wars trilogy and the original Star Wars trilogy, it sees the character drawn into a rescue mission at Tatooine that results in him crossing paths with some familiar faces.

Debuting with a special two-part premiere, it generated such buzz that it became the most-watched original series premiere on the streaming service. It followed that up with four more weekly episodes that had the internet and Star Wars fans engaged for every single second of them.

With Obi-Wan Kenobi creating such a buzz, will the show be back for any future installments?

Is Obi-Wan Kenobi new tonight, June 28?

Unfortunately, Obi-Wan Kenobi will not be airing a new episode tonight. The show’s first season came to an end with episode 6, the season finale, airing last week.

The show is a limited series, meaning that it wasn’t designed to carry on for a long period of time. That said, there may be more for Obi-Wan in the future.

Will there be an Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2?

While Obi-Wan Kenobi was envisioned as a miniseries, it’s becoming increasingly clear that there is scope for a second season. Obi-Wan himself, Ewan McGregor, has commented how he would love the chance to return to the role every now and again, while Hayden Christensen also expressed interest in returning for another installment.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy also acknowledged the possibility of a second season, telling Entertainment Tonight that, even though it was viewed as a limited series, they would certainly give it a lot of consideration if people really want more as the fans “speak to [them]”.
