Does A-Train die in The Boys season 3? (Spoilers)
By Cody Schultz
There is a lot of mystery surrounding whether A-Train lives or dies in The Boys season 3, but we’re here to clear up that confusion!
From the moment episode 6 of The Boys season 3 dropped on Amazon, fans have been eager to know the fate of one particular member of The Seven: A-Train.
During the episode, A-Train confronts Blue Hawk at Herogasm about his actions from the previous episode in which he attacked a group of innocent civilians — including A-Train’s older brother, who was crippled in the fight.
When Blue Hawk tries brushing him off and making a quick getaway following Soldier Boy’s attack, A-Train finally reaches a boiling point and things quickly escalate between the two. Filled with rage, A-Train grabs Blue Hawk by the neck, slams him to the ground, grabs him by the leg and zooms off dragging Blue Hawk behind him until it’s clear he’s dead.
Unfortunately for A-Train, he seems to push himself too far this time as his heart quickly begins to race. As his heart continues to race, A-Train collapses in the middle of the road where he’s dragged Blue Hawk’s body. Just as A-Train seems to stop breathing, we hear the sound of his heart coming to a halt as the camera then pans out to show a lifeless A-Train as the camera cuts away.
So was that truly the end of A-Train?
Warning, The Boys season 3 spoilers ahead. If you’re hoping to avoid spoilers regarding A-Train’s fate, this is where you might want to leave us.
Does A-Train die in The Boys season 3?
Following the sixth episode of The Boys season 3, we’re led to believe that A-Train has died after exhausting his already weakened heart by using his super-speed to kill Blue Hawk in his fit of rage. We hear his heart stop beating and see him lying lifeless on the pavement having stopped breathing. All signs seem to point towards that being the death of A-Train; however, that’s not the case.
As we discover late in The Boys season 3, episode 7, Vought managed to get to A-Train in time to save his life through a truly heartbreaking route.
Upon coming too in a recovery ward at Vought Headquarters, Ashley explains to A-Train that Vought has helped to cover up the murder of Blue Hawk by telling the public that Soldier Boy attacked them both, killing Blue Hawk right in front of A-Train. But Blue Hawk will live because they gave A-Train his heart, which is how he survived after his heart gave out.
While giving Blue Hawk’s super-abled heart to A-Train means he’ll be able to race again and that he’ll live to see another day, it’s going to be interesting to see how exactly he copes with knowing the heart keeping him alive belongs to the man responsible for crippling his brother and harming so many others.
The Boys is streaming now on Amazon Prime. New episodes of season 3 are released every Friday.
