Ms. Marvel: 5 crucial moments from the season 1 finale
By Mark Lynch
2. More Ms. Marvel abilities
Kamala was laying down in her room getting ready to do homework in the episode’s mid-credit scene. Out of nowhere, she was slammed into her closet. She went in as Kamala and came out looking like Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). At first, it seemed like it was actually Carol Danvers until she spoke and sounded like Kamala. Could this actually mean that shape-shifting is part of Kamala’s powers in the MCU?
This writer assumed that the hard-light glowing was the extent of her abilities in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It looks like he may have been wrong. In Marvel Comics, Kamala can shape-shift. Right after that, the credits said, “Ms. Marvel will return in The Marvels.” However, does that mean Brie Larson is Captain Marvel in The Marvels or is she playing Kamala Khan?
1. Kamala Khan is a mutant
When the series began, it was said that Kamala got her powers from the bangle. After looking into it, Bruno noticed that the power was actually inside her, and that Kamala didn’t need the bracelet to activate them. Of course, Bruno kept looking into things. He found out that Kamala’s DNA is different from her family’s. There’s a – wait for it – mutation in her genes!
Is this the moment that MCU fans have been waiting for? Have we finally been given the beginning of mutants and the X-Men? It sure looks like it. If so, get ready for more nods and hints to mutants in future Marvel Studios projects. Especially in She-Hulk.
