It’s reported that The Boys’ anticipated spin-off Gen V was happening while season 3 was going on. What does this mean and is it a good thing?

The Boys on Amazon Prime Video was yet another hit for the series. Unfortunately, after eight episodes, fans will have to wait some time for season 4. Thankfully, Karl Urban said that filming for season 4 will start in August.

There is also the much-anticipated spin-off The Boys Presents: Varsity, now titled Gen V, to look forward to. And, in an interview with Deadline, showrunner Eric Kripke, there will be some crossover with the original show.

"“There’s definitely crossover, and we’re doing our best to design a universe that sees some of the issues and storylines in Season 3 hand off to the first season in Varsity. Like there’s a presidential campaign happening in the background of that season, and there’s certain things that are happening at that school that are both in reaction to Season 3 of The Boys. There’s Soldier Boy, etcetera, but also some new storylines that are happening in that season of the spinoff that we have to pick up and take into Season 4 of the show.”"

This writer loves the idea that Gen V will have a connection to season 3 of The Boys, especially the Presidential race. This will remind fans that this is a major part of the story. Victoria Neuman possibly becoming the next Vice President of the United States will be more important than people think.

There could be even more connections to The Boys with set photos revealing statues of Lamplighter and Translucent (guess what his statue looks like).

Gen V has had some bumps along the way. The show was supposed to begin filming in October of 2021, but began filming in May of 2022. There have also been cast members like Aimee Carrero (Young and the Hungry and Blindspot) and Shane Paul McGhie (Deputy and Unbelievable) are two actors who have left the show. Nevertheless, there have been great casting choices with Patrick Schwarzenegger (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), and Sean Patrick Thomas (Barbershop) all joining the show. Add them to what will undoubtedly be a memorable story and perhaps even some possible appearances from characters from The Boys and Gen V is in good hands.

Next. The Boys: (Spoiler) is dead, but he’ll return in season 4. dark
