The Boys college spin-off finally reveals its official name
By Mark Lynch
After a little over a year, the cast from Amazon Prime’s newest spin-off from The Boys reveals its name and it’s very fitting.
The Boys ended season 3 with a bang. Homelander is free to get away with murder (literally and figurativly), Butcher has 18 months tops to live, and Ryan is happy in his current situation. With season 4 possibly over a year away, fans of The Boys will have to wait to see what happens.
However, the popular Amazon Prime Video franchise sure knows when – and how – to release news. The name of the newest The Boys spin-off was finally revealed in a social media post from the main show’s official account. Listen to what the cast had to say about Gen V.
Meet everyone in The Boys: Gen V
The cast starts off by introducing themselves. Some of them are more familiar than others (looking at you Patrick Schwarzenegger). Nevertheless, they all seemed ecstatic to be part of the spin-off. After revealing who they are, they said they’re excited to be part of Gen V – the newest show revolving around The Boys.
After that, they all talk about what to expect from the show. Among those things are everything fans have grown to love from The Boys itself. Intensity being one of the words that stuck out. Another phrase came from actor Chance Perdomo. He said the show is, “f***ed up” and that we’re going to love it.
While that was revealed, everything else about the show seems to be hush-hush. Among those things are who the cast is playing. According to IMDb.com, Patrick Schwarzenegger is playing a character named Golden Boy. That means that everything about this show is a mystery. Nevertheless, Golden Boy is sure to be important. That’s unless we’re being thrown a curveball and he dies within the first couple of episodes. This is The Boys universe we’re talking about here.
