The Batman should be the catalyst of the DCEU

Batman was meant to be the center of the DCEU

This may be a bit of a stretch, but hear me out. Zack Snyder set it off with Man of Steel, but Superman was more of the light, the voice of reason for the Justice League. Superman “died” to save humanity and became the symbol of hope. Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) was the hero who went on a recruiting trip to bring the team together. With Batfleck gone, we can have Robert Pattinson aka Battinson, take his place.

WB shouldn’t jump-start Snyder’s universe, they should retcon what he started. We don’t need to see a Bruce Wayne at the end of his career. Pattinson is around the same age as Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, so a time jump that seasons him as a hero will make him a seamless fit. No, he won’t be the leader of the group — he’d be an outsider. We can watch him turn down the league as he continues to find his own path in a world of superpowered people.

This allows for Batman to have his own journey where we see him take Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Barbara Gordon, and eventually Tim Drake under his wing (pun intended). The Dark Knight would eventually join when he’s forced to take action against a villain too tough for the superheroes. We all understand that Superman is the symbol of hope, but he isn’t Batman. There is something interesting about seeing Batman try his hardest to avoid being part of a team only to become one of its most important figures.
