5 unusual members of the X-Men Marvel Studios needs in the MCU

The addition of mutants is coming to the MCU. The official plan has yet to be announced, but the groundwork is being formed. Not only will Namor be introduced in the next Marvel film, but Ms. Marvel dropped our biggest hint yet that mutants will soon be a key part of the MCU.

Like the Fantastic Four, the arrival of the X-Men in the MCU seems inevitable. Disney and Marvel Studios handed over a hefty check to acquire the properties and now need to discover the best way to incorporate the newest characters into the film adaption of Marvel.

Not all superhero film ventures have done well. While Marvel has had the most success, there are other efforts that have fallen short. We saw this with the second attempt to make the Fantastic Four and other projects have been canceled before they even hit the big screen. Unfortunately for Marvel Studios, X-Men wasn’t one of those.

The X-Men might be the most successful superhero franchise outside of the MCU. Not all of them were hits, but they created identifiable characters that will be hard to overwrite. Hugh Jackman is Wolverine. Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy are Professor X. Magneto, Beast, Cyclops and more have been established.

Now, the MCU has dealt with this before. They were able to overcome recasting Spider-Man and they are now entering the range to adapt a Daredevil that we already know. However, they could take a different route with the X-Men.

The pool of heroes in the X-Men is vast. Kevin Feige and company have the opportunity to introduce new characters to the big screen instead of recycling already known characters. Whether these characters fizzled out quickly in their appearances or were just completely ignored altogether, the MCU has the chance to find diamonds in the rough with these characters.
