Thunderbolts: 10 characters who could join the team in the MCU film
By Mark Lynch
Before the team is announced, here are 10 Marvel characters that could be part of the Thunderbolts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con wasn’t as long and luxurious as people may have wanted. Nevertheless, it was informative. Very informative.
Kevin Feige laid out Marvel Studios’ plans for their Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and Disney Plus shows for Phases 5 and 6. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, updates about the return of Loki for season 2, and images of X-Men ‘97 were all part of show.
One project that shocked this writer was the movie chosen to end Phase 5. That film is Thunderbolts.
Who are the Thunderbolts?
The Thunderbolts are like the Suicide Squad. Villains who do heroic things. For the most part, the Thunderbolts aren’t being forced to help. Some of them are happy to get redemption for the things they’ve done. Others have to be forced or bribed to go along with everything. This dynamic makes for a very interesting and unpredictable team in the comics. It will also make for an entertaining movie.
The characters involved in this are what makes the team work. None of them are alike in terms of power or abilities. They certainly don’t have the same reason for being on the team. Similar, maybe, but never the same. If they pick the right characters for the upcoming MCU movie, it could rival The Avengers in terms of entertainment.
Coming up are ten characters that could be part of the Thunderbolts in 2024 and why we may see them.
