2. Man of Steel sequels

Stop me if you heard this before, but we need a Man of Steel sequel. Or this, Henry Cavill may or may not be returning as Superman. Warner Bros. Discovery allegedly botched a deal with the Witcher star, but whatever happens next, Superman’s story must continue. We need a continued story from the one set in motion by Man of Steel. There are layers to be explored and stories to be told. Most importantly, fans deserve it. Warner Bros. Discovery is about making money. More specifically, they want to make blockbuster films — Superman does that.

If Henry Cavill doesn’t return, it shouldn’t stop Lin from telling his story. There’s a Superman v Lobo story ready for live-action. Imagine the intergalactic bounty hunter coming to earth looking for a Kryptonian, but it is not Superman — it’s Supergirl. What about Superman v The Elite in a film adaption of What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice, And The American Way? And of course, there’s Brainiac. Maybe we could see a different take on Superman, where he must be more Clark Kent. It doesn’t mean he won’t suit up, but it would be cool to see a grounded side of the hero, like a live action version of Superman: The Animated Series episode “The Late Mr. Kent” (season 2, episode 22).

There are way too many stories to tell, and we don’t need Henry Cavill to tell them. Though it would be amazing to have. If not, I’m sure James Marsden, Richard Madden, and Jonathan Bailey wouldn’t mind playing the role. Maybe they can call Tom Welling or Brandon Routh to suit up.

Whatever happens, Superman must return.
