This Wednesday, a new episode of DC’s Stargirl season 3 airs on The CW. The show returned to the network last week for its third season premiere, and now it’s back with its second episode.
Season 3 of Stargirl finds Blue Valley the location of an unexpected murder, with The Gambler killed shortly after his return to town. However, as the first episode highlighted, there were a lot of people who didn’t want the former Injustice Society of America villain back – including some of his old ISA allies.
Thus begins the third season’s central murder mystery as Courtney Whitmore and the Justice Society of America begin to investigate The Gambler’s death and figure out who was responsible for it. Is Cindy Burman the one who killed him? Was The Shade harboring a grudge against him for stealing his money all those years ago? Or is Starman’s return not as triumphant as it seems?
