Rumors are out that Marvel Studios may have signed seven people to play in future MCU roles. Here are the seven performers and characters they can play.

Recently, Yahoo reported on a tweet from broadcaster Emmet Kennedy. He said that Marvel Studios may have signed seven big-name performers. The seven names said to be hired were Henry Cavill, Jodie Comer, John Boyega, Daisy Edgar-Jones, John Krasinski, Giancarlo Esposito, and Denzel Washington.

All of them have shown their skills as performers. Some have been nominated and won Oscars and other prestigious awards.  If the rumor is true, they will help elevate the Marvel Cinematic Universe to yet another level.

When comic book companies hire actors, it’s fun to think about who they could be. These seven are no different. Especially Henry Cavill. He’s currently rumored to come back in the DCEU as Superman. Hopefully, both of these would be true. It would be interesting to see if he could be both Superman and a Marvel Comics character. If the reports are accurate, who can he play? How would the other actors and actresses be cast? This writer has some ideas.

Who should Henry Cavill play in the MCU?

As far as this writer is concerned, Henry Cavill is underrated. It was apparent when he played Superman. He did action, comedy, and drama perfectly in one role. He was even better in The Witcher. People may say those are just fantasy roles, but a good performance is just that. He’ll make a great addition to the MCU and there are multiple characters he can play.

Marvel character: Sentry

The first character people go to is Hyperion. Marvel Comics version of Superman. This is a good pick if he’s evil. If not, it’s a waste of a character. He’d be better in a role he can show his range in. The Sentry is perfect. He could play crazy, insecure, constantly scared, and one of the strongest characters in all of comics.

Who should Jodie Comer play in the MCU?

Jodie Comer absolutely rocked as Villanelle in Killing Eve. As soon as this writer saw her, he realized there’s not a Marvel Comics character that she can’t play. Comicbook.com reported that she’s rumored to play Sue Storm. While that’s an amazing pick, there are two characters this writer would pick her to play.

Marvel character: Emma Frost, Mystique

First, there’s Mystique. Everything she did as Villanelle is Raven Darkholme. She acts like an uncaring assassin but loves the people closest to her. If she loves you, she’ll kill and die for you. If not, she will kill you in a heartbeat.

Then there’s Emma Frost. It wouldn’t take much for Jodie Comer to play the arrogant and aristocratic White Queen. Jodie Comer would easily pick up playing a stuck-up villain. When she eventually joins the X-Men, Jodie Comer wouldn’t have to change Emma’s personality. She’d only change where Emma directs her telepathy.

Who should John Boyega play in the MCU?

It’s shocking that John Boyega is in these rumors. His experience with the Star Wars franchise would normally make people apprehensive about working for the company again (Disney owns both Star Wars and Marvel). Different people in charge may have been all it took for him to work with Disney again.

Marvel character: Hank McCoy

If this writer was going to pick anyone for John Boyega to play, it’s Hank McCoy (Beast). It’s a role that comes with a lot of requirements. All of which Boyega can do. Beast isn’t just a guy with blue fur that bounces around. He’s a genius with more insecurities than any comic book character. That self-doubt constantly gets him in trouble with his peers. If anyone can pull off this monumental role, it’s John Boyega. Plus, if need be, he can be Dark Beast as well.

Who should Daisy Edgar-Jones play in the MCU?

Admittedly, this writer didn’t know anything about Daisy Edgar-Jones before the rumors of her casting came out. With a little research, he found out that she’s delightful and a good actress. She also has a great smile, sense of humor, and bright personality. The young actress is perfect for a role in an X-Men project.

Marvel character: Kitty Pryde

You can look at Daisy Edgar-Jones and see Kitty Pryde. It helps that she’s young. Whoever plays Kitty Pryde has to be able to grow into the role. The only negative here is that she’s not Jewish. Other than that, she has what it takes.

Who should John Krasinski play in the MCU?

Marvel Comics fans wanted John Krasinski to play Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) for years. They got their wish in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It may have only been a short cameo, but fans could see the potential. Since this is what the people want, Marvel Studios may just give it to them.

Marvel character: Reed Richards

No one is more suited for this role. Penn Badgley was rumored to play him in the MCU. That may work, but it should be John Krasinski. He’s already been Mr. Fantastic and looks exactly like Reed Richards. If John Krasinski is hired by Marvel Studios, fans will be upset if anyone but him plays the Fantastic Four’s leader.

Who should Giancarlo Esposito play in the MCU?

This writer truly believes that no one is more suited to play Mephisto than Giancarlo Esposito. If you’ve seen him in Breaking Bad or The Boys on Amazon Prime, then you know it’s true. He’s perfectly suited to play someone who’s manipulative, conniving, and flat-out evil. However, there’s another Marvel character he would excel at playing.

Marvel character: Charles Xavier

Despite what you may have seen in the X-Men cartoon, Charles Xavier is worse than Mephisto. At least the Lord of Hell doesn’t act like something he’s not. Xavier lies to himself and others about who he is. There have been enemies of the X-Men who’ve called out Xavier for acting like a sheep and is really a wolf.

Xavier can be just as manipulative as Mephisto. And if he doesn’t get his way, he’ll use his telepathy (even though he says he doesn’t do that). As much as Xavier may have to be a hero, there should be moments in the MCU where he’s been deplorable and secretive as well.

Who should Denzel Washington play in the MCU?

Denzel is known for being one of the greatest actors of all time. He’s shown it in everything he’s been in. Because of that, it was difficult to cast him. Where do you place someone who’s put on more classic performances than almost anyone? You make him a hero who’s worthy of him. Adam Brashear is the right role for him.

Marvel character: Blue Marvel

Adam Brashear is a genius that Reed Richards, T’Challa, and Tony Stark look up to. He’s also strong enough to take on an entire Avengers team and win. He once knocked out a Hulk in one punch. Not even Sentry can do that (another person Blue Marvel has beaten).

Denzel Washington needs to be someone that encompasses everything he’s been to actors and people of color. A genius actor with nothing but strong performances. Plus, who wouldn’t want to see him uppercut the Hulk?
