DC Comics just gave Darkseid a weapon that makes him unbeatable
By Mark Lynch
DC Comics DCeased ended with Sinestro’s Yellow Lantern ring finding its way to Darkseid. Is this a good idea or will this turn readers away from the comic book miniseries?
DC Comics has been putting out a lot of mini and maxi-series that highlight their multiverse. Among them are White Knight, Justice League: Last Ride, and DC vs Vampires. There’s a fourth that every comic book fan should read called DCeased. A series where Darkseid found the Anti-Life Equation and ruined the lives of millions of people.
The equation turned living beings into zombie-like creatures. Instead of eating organic things, they wanted to kill anything living. It infected almost everyone on Earth. Not even Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman were exempt from being turned. This forced a lot of people to abandon Earth to start a new life on another planet. That was until DCeased: Dead Planet No. 2 (of 8).
In DCeased: Dead Planet finale, the heroes found a cure thanks to Cyborg and John Constantine sacrificing his life. Now the remaining heroes could successfully return everyone infected by the Anti-Life Equation back to normal. Unfortunately, the people on Earth weren’t the only ones turned. In fact, they weren’t even the first. Darkseid was patient zero and he wasn’t dead. He returned and is on a rampage.
