Marvel fans have a lot of questions about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is unquestionably the most anticipated movie of the year. The sequel to 2018’s universally-acclaimed Academy Award-nominated Black Panther, it will also honor the life of the late, great Chadwick Boseman, who tragically passed away in 2020.

The film’s first trailer was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con and it confirmed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie will take place after the death of King T’Challa, setting the stage for a film that honors T’Challa, Boseman, and will seemingly see a new Black Panther carry on their legacy.

The question that fans have been asking for some time is: Who is the new Black Panther?

The second trailer for Wakanda Forever has been released, and it may have shed some light on the identity of the new hero.

Who is the new Black Panther in Wakanda Forever?

Wakanda Forever will feature a new Black Panther that will carry on the legacy of the beloved T’Challa and keep Wakanda safe from harm. This is something that the first trailer for the film highlighted and the second one reinforced, with Queen Ramonda telling those around her that the world is whispering about how Wakanda has lost its protector.

With the arrival of Namor and the threat against both Wakanda and the surface world, the trailer highlights the importance of a new Black Panther rising to the challenge, and with that, we get to see the first full shot of the character suited up.

So who is it? Since the revelation that T’Challa’s successor would lead Black Panther 2, there have only ever been three realistic options, and those are Okoye, Nakia and Shuri. The latter of those is the most likely, as Shuri does take up the mantle in the comics, and the trailer certainly leans in that direction as well. And with that, she remains the most likely possibility to don the suit that she once created and honor her brother’s legacy.

Is that actress Letitia Wright suited up? We don’t have much longer to wait until we find out.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives in movie theaters on Friday, November 11, 2022.
