Wondering what you should watch before watching Black Adam in theaters? Here is your recommended pre-Black Adam watch list!

On Friday, Oct. 21, Black Adam finally opens in theaters after years in development. As for whether the film will change the hierarchy of the DC Extended Universe? Well, that remains to be seen but what is certain is that the film is sure to light up the box office and rake in some serious cash for Warner Bros.

The new film is set to introduce audiences to a variety of new characters who will be making their-live action debuts in the film, including the film’s title character.

While the film will mark the first appearance in the DCEU for many heroes, it’s still said to be set within the broader universe which begs the question: do you need to watch any movies before seeing the film in order to fully enjoy it?

What DC movies do I need to watch before Black Adam?

Truthfully, there aren’t any movies you have to watch before seeing Black Adam in theaters in order to fully enjoy the film and understand the events that unfold across it. While the film is set within the DCEU, there are not any direct connections to the film and previous films which viewers will need to watch in order to fully enjoy the film.

That said, if you’re looking to watch any films before Black Adam there are a few we’d recommend checking out.

The first film we’d recommend watching would be Shazam!, as the character shares a deep history with the character and are expected to cross paths in a future film. We’d also recommend checking out the films starring Henry Cavill’s Superman since there is a chance the character could appear in Black Adam. If you were to watch Cavill’s Superman catalog of films this would entail adding Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman and Justice League.
