Black Adam box office projections: How much is Black Adam expected to make?
By Cody Schultz
Black Adam box office projections seem to suggest the film will have a solid opening, just not as big as the box office opening of The Batman.
When it comes to breaking big at the box office, superhero films are often among the biggest box office earners every year. So needless to say, Warner Bros. Discovery is betting big on its latest superhero blockbuster which is led by some of the biggest names in Hollywood today.
We’re, of course, referring to Black Adam which opened exclusively in theaters on Oct. 21 starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the title role. The film was met with mixed reactions from critics, but audiences are loving the film which is precisely what Warner Bros. Discovery had been hoping for when it decided to release the film exclusively in theaters.
But exactly how much money is the film expected to make during its opening weekend? Well, that’s the mystery that likely led you here today and the short and sweet answer to this question is a lot.
Black Adam box office projections: How much will the film make opening weekend?
During its opening weekend, Black Adam is projected to bring in between $60 – $75 million dollars at the domestic box office which would easily earn it the top spot at the box office during its opening weekend. Still, that total would put the film’s domestic opening weekend total below the earnings of two of this year’s other big superhero films.
Fellow DC Comics film The Batman was a sleeper hit this spring, bringing in $134 million at the domestic box office this March across its opening weekend. Meanwhile, Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder raked in an impressive $143 million at the domestic box office during its opening weekend in July.
If you’re doing the math, that means Black Adam is expected to make significantly less than this year’s other big superhero films have in their opening weekend. Still, that projection is up sharply from the $23 million DC League of Super-Pets brought in during its opening weekend this summer.
Should Black Adam have a larger-than-expected Saturday at the box office, it’s possible the Black Adam box office projections could rise but for now, it’s looking likely the film won’t pass the $100 million mark in its opening weekend domestically.
