Fans are eager to see the X-Men join the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Beyonce remaining a fan-favorite for the role of Storm, for good reason.

The X-Men are coming to the MCU. It’s no longer wishful thinking, but a matter of fact after Marvel Studios reacquired the rights to the characters via Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

Although Marvel seems to be taking its time in announcing its first X-Men project, there is no way the studio sits on the iconic archive of X-Men characters for too long. It’d be like drafting a star player only to leave them on the bench the entire season, you just don’t leave your star players sidelined to gather dust.

As fans wait for Marvel to announce their plans for the X-Men, the go-to way to pass time thus far has been to dreamcast some of the iconic X-Men heroes who have been saving the day in the pages of Marvel Comics for years.

When it comes to the X-Men, there are few characters quite as iconic as Storm. Although Storm was not among the team’s original roster, from the moment she debuted in 1975 she’s become one of the franchise’s most beloved heroes.

For this reason, it’s of no surprise that fans are incredibly excited at the thought of Storm arriving in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although Marvel has not made any casting decisions, one name that has emerged as a favorite for the role of Storm is Beyonce… and it’s not hard to see why fans are so excited about the prospect of Beyonce suiting up as Storm after checking out the below incredible fan art.

What Beyonce could look like as Storm in the MCU

Inspired by rumors about her potential casting, artist ApexForm transforms Beyonce into Storm with a design that has clearly been inspired by the character’s comic book likeness. In the jaw-dropping concept art, Beyonce rocks Storm’s signature silver suit created by Jim Lee which debuted in the ’90s, an era that saw Storm emerge as the leader of the X-Men Gold Team.

Of course, no Storm concept art would be complete without the character’s signature white hair and a little bit of lightning as a nod to the character’s abilities to control the weather.

Will Beyonce play Storm in the MCU?

Although there have been a lot of rumors surrounding the likelihood of Beyonce playing Storm in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the years, Marvel has yet to confirm or address the casting rumors. As such, it is unclear whether Beyonce will end up playing Storm in the MCU.

In 2020, Newsweek reported that Beyonce was in talks with Disney sign to a three-film deal. At the time when the report first broke, it was reported Beyonce was in discussions to make her MCU debut as Storm in Black Panther 2.

Ultimately, nothing came of the reports as Beyonce has yet to appear in the MCU and was not involved in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Still, when those reports broke there was a lot of speculation revolving around the strong desire Beyonce had in playing Storm — a character many are eager to see enter the MCU.

While nothing came of the rumors, it’s entirely possible Disney did sign a deal with Beyonce which might simply not have come into play just yet. It’s important to remember that Black Panther 2 was re-written following the death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020. So there could very well have been a plan in place to introduce Storm via the film before the film’s direction shifted.

Following the success of Wakanda Foreverit’s expected that Marvel will green-light a third film that could be used to introduce Storm into the MCU. If that happens, it seems possible Marvel could look to revisit those conversations with Beyonce about the role.
