The Winchesters season 1, episode 7 live stream: Watch online

The Winchesters on The CW is back this week with the seventh episode of its premiere season. Here’s how you can watch the newest episode of the Supernatural spin-off series online.

John Winchester has seen a lot in his short time as a hunter on The Winchesters. However, seeing a funeral for a hunter in the previous episode isn’t something that he was prepared for, but was something he needed to see. He now has a clear understanding of what his job entails. It isn’t just killing monsters. The reality is even hunters die. During all of this, Mary also got the chance to see that hunters can get out of the life, as her old friend Tracy had successfully retired. So even with the circumstances, Mary could finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

When the monster being hunted (the Soucouyant) pops up at Tracy’s house, John runs directly after it. He’s lucky that Mary was able to chop the Soucouyant’s arm off and it ran away. John’s reckless behavior has been a theme since “Master of War”. The irony is the monster they’re hunting ties into a hunter named Mac that Tracy killed years ago. Mac’s spirit inhabits the Soucouyant and ends up possessing John. The idea was to use his body to try and kill Tracy.

Eventually, Latika saves the day. All of her thoughts about not being a good hunter proved to be wrong. Like always, when they needed her, she was there. Thankfully, she didn’t use violence to save the day. It would have been out of character. Especially when they dive into her backstory.

Viewers find out why Latika isn’t a fighter like the others. It’s not that she can’t. She doesn’t want to. She saw what anger and violence did to her and she doesn’t want to become that person again. It was good to get a glimpse into Latika’s past. Hopefully there will be more of this. If this writer is being honest, she’s one of the most interesting characters on the show.

At the end of the episode, John admits that he’s been using hunting as a way to deal with his anger. While he’s meditating with Latika, Carlos gives them news. They know where the Akrida are. But that’s just the beginning of the madness that is about to unfold from the upcoming midseason finale, as the episode description for “Reflections” teases that a lot is going to happen. Not only will Carlos and Latika go looking for information on the Akida, John and Mary will get news about their fathers. And yes, this is the episode that will see Smallville‘s Tom Welling debut as Samuel Campbell.
