It worked with other comic book movies

Making X-Men low-budget (by MCU standards) would allow for more creative freedom and experimentation within the franchise. Without the need for expensive special effects and lavish set pieces, the filmmakers behind the X-Men movies would be able to focus on creating compelling and emotional stories that are true to the spirit of the comics.

Take Deadpool and Blade for example. Sure latter is pretty old, but hear me out. Deadpool and Blade are two popular superhero characters who have had successful film adaptations despite having relatively low budgets compared to other comic book movies. This is proof that comic book movies don’t have to break the bank in order to be successful, and that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) can do the same with their upcoming X-Men films.

One of the key reasons why Deadpool and Blade were able to succeed with their low-budget films is that they both had distinct tones that set them apart from other superhero movies. Deadpool’s irreverent and self-aware humor appealed to audiences, while Blade’s dark and violent action drew in fans of the horror genre. This allowed both films to stand out and attract a dedicated fanbase, even with a smaller budget.

Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes both brought their A-game to their respective roles, delivering memorable and engaging performances that elevated the films. This is another example of how having a talented cast can make up for a lack of financial resources.

In the case of the upcoming X-Men films in the MCU, the franchise has the potential to replicate the success of Deadpool and Blade by staying true to the characters and their unique tones. The X-Men have a rich history and a diverse cast of characters, each with their own distinct personalities and abilities. By focusing on character development and story rather than spectacle, the MCU can create X-Men films that are both faithful to the source material and appealing to audiences.
