Invincible season 2 is not coming to Amazon Prime Video in January 2023

Invincible season 2 won’t be hitting the Amazon Prime Video streaming service this month.

Fans of Amazon’s Prime Video animated series Invincible have been asking about its return for its second season for a long, long time now.

For anyone who doesn’t remember, Invincible debuted on the streamer in March 2021 and became an instant hit – and yes, we mean instant hit – as critics, TV fans, and of course, fans of the source material, all praised it a great deal. And after Amazon Prime Video’s success with The Boys, that wasn’t all that surprising.

It’s renewal for two more seasons wasn’t all that surprising either given its success, but what was is the fact that it has been almost two years and there still hasn’t been a release date for season 2.

While news is on its way, don’t be expecting the streamer to release new episodes in January 2023. We may be at the start of a new year, but Amazon Prime Video has already unveiled its listings for January, and Invincible season 2 is not on there.

Invincible season 2 release date predictions

Fans have been waiting a long time for Invincible season 2 news but they won’t have to wait much longer. Even though new episodes won’t be arriving in January, there will be a huge update as the show’s official social media accounts have promised that some long-awaited news is indeed coming this month.

While that was announced last month, a new post on the Invincible Twitter account has confirmed that the arrival of the new year will bring an update about the show’s second season. The account posted a meme hinting at the news coming in January, with a follow-up tweet confirming the update will arrive “sometime between Jan 2 and Jan 31”.

Taking that into account, Invincible season 2 could premiere as early as February. After all, fans have been waiting a long time, and it sounds like the season is nearly ready to go. That being said, don’t be surprised if the streamer decides to hold the series’ returning season until March or April since the show did so well in the springtime in 2021. And a summer release wouldn’t be out of the equation either.

That’s just a prediction and, as always, it’s best to wait for Prime Video to make an official announcement before making any Invincible season 2 plans. The good news is that an announcement could be imminent.
