The Mandalorian season 3 is nearly upon us and here is everything we know about the return of Disney Plus’ premier Star Wars series.

The Mandalorian season 2 was yet another major success in a franchise known for producing many of them. The beloved Star Wars Disney Plus spinoff show easily replicated the success of its first season as it received overwhelming praise from fans and critics who enjoyed every adventure that Din Djarin and Baby Yoda found themselves on.

It’s been over two years since the season 2 finale aired on screens, so to say anticipation is high for season 3 wouldn’t quite capture just how much fans are looking forward to its premiere.

Yes, it’s taken some time to get the third season on screens, both with the release of other Star Wars programming such as The Book of Boba FettObi-Wan Kenobi and Andor, and just time-consuming production, but its arrival is on the horizon.

Below, you’ll find all the up-to-date information you need about The Mandalorian season 3, its premiere on Disney Plus, its cast, any trailers and more.

The Mandalorian season 3 release date

The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere on Disney Plus on Wednesday, March 1 2023. This was confirmed last year after months of uncertainty surrounding its release date.

An initial tease at Disney Investor Day 2020 suggested that the show would return in time for Christmas 2021 as that would have lined up with the show’s previous premieres, but its slot in 2021 was given to fellow Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett instead. And after that, the show’s social media accounts alluded to a February 2023 release date before ultimately settling on March 1.

The wait for new episodes of The Mandalorian has been long, but it is nearly over. Season 3 is on the horizon!

The Mandalorian season 3 cast

The primary cast of The Mandalorian is usually pretty compact given that it focuses solely on the title character. With that in mind, we can confirm that Pedro Pascal will, of course, be reprising his role as Din Djarin. He will also be accompanied by Baby Yoda/Grogu – and after fans briefly got to catch up with them in The Book of Boba Fett, you can rest assured they’ll be happy to see them back in action in The Mandalorian season 3.

But they won’t be the only ones returning, as Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan Kryze will be back, with Giancarlo Esposito also returning as Moff Gideon, as well as Carl Weathers’ Greef Karga being back on screens too. Taika Waititi is expected to reprise his role as IG-11. Gina Carano will not be reprising her role as Cara Dune.

Here is every confirmed cast member for The Mandalorian season 3 thus far:

  • Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin / The Mandalorian
  • Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze
  • Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon
  • Carl Weathers as Greef Karga
  • Emily Swallow as “The Armorer”
  • Omid Abtahi as Dr. Pershing
  • Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto
  • Christopher Lloyd in an unknown role
  • Tim Meadows in an unknown role
