The series finale of The Walking Dead was undoubtedly the conclusion of a major TV era. The show was one of the longest-running on the air before it came to an end but even a show about the undead must rest in peace at some point, and that’s what will happen when TWD concludes.
But it isn’t over for this universe. Heck, it isn’t even over for certain characters within this universe. The announcement that The Walking Dead would end came with the reveal that there would be two more spinoffs to this ever-expanding TWD Universe. And that set the stage for more announcements to come after that.

Current The Walking Dead spinoffs
If you’d like to dive right into the world of The Walking Dead through a new series, we’re happy to let you know that there are already three TWD spin-offs you can enjoy right now.
The most important of those is Fear The Walking Dead, a show that initially showed us how the zombie apocalypse began before becoming a companion series to the show, featuring some beloved TWD characters as well. Its upcoming eighth season will be its last but it will air 12 new episodes this year.

Upcoming The Walking Dead spinoffs 2023
The end of TWD brings with it an expanded TWD Universe, and there are now three new spin-off shows in development. Moreover, Fear The Walking Dead returns for its eighth and final season.
The Walking Dead: Dead City will see Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan reprise their roles as Maggie and Negan head to New York City, while Daryl Dixon will focus on Norman Reedus’ fearless leader Daryl in France. (it was also initially set to star Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier before the actress departed the project).
The previously announced trilogy of Rick Grimes movies has now evolved into a six-part series that will see Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira reprise their roles as Rick and Michonne to continue their love story. However, it has now been announced that it won’t be coming until 2024.
