Fans are eager to see the X-Men join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and this image of Keke Palmer in the role of Rogue has us eager to see her join the MCU.

With the rights to the characters back in Marvel’s hands, it’s only a matter of time before the X-Men make their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe — after all, you don’t acquire some of the most beloved characters in comic book history only to let them sit on the sidelines.

Although Marvel has not yet confirmed the timeline for when the X-Men will make their MCU debuts, there are already rumors circulating that Marvel could be developing projects built around some of the franchise’s biggest characters — namely Wolverine.

While Wolverine has been a large talking point for many fans, understandably so, there are many other characters fans are just as excited to see make their MCU debut including one who was left by the wayside in the X-Men franchise’s most recent franchise: Rogue.

Sans a brief appearance from Anna Paquin in 2014’s X: Men: Days of Future Past, the fiery self-described Southern belle was glaringly missing when 20th Century Fox rebooted the franchise in 2011. However, we don’t imagine Marvel will make that same mistake, especially considering her popularity among fans.

There are many actresses who could play Rogue, but after seeing Keke Palmer suit up as Rogue it’s hard to imagine anyone else playing the character in the MCU when the time finally comes for her MCU debut!

What Keke Palmer could look like as Rogue from X-Men in the MCU

Inspired by the X-Men’s looming arrival in the MCU, digital artist Rahal Nejraoui took to Instagram to share their rendition of what Rogue could look like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Keke Palmer in the role.

In the stunning art, Palmer is transformed into the iconic X-Men hero in a look that is truly movie ready. Clearly inspired by Jim Lee’s iconic Leather Bomber character design, Palmer transforms into Rogue complete with her signature brown leather bomber jacket signature yellow and green super suit, and the character’s iconic brown and white hairstyle.

After seeing a more toned-down Rogue in the original X-Men film franchise, fans are definitely hopeful Marvel’s take on the character might be truer to her comic book counterpart both in look and in personality. Rogue is such a fun character with a big and bold personality (and style) which was missing from the character’s previous live-action portrayal.

Palmer is no stranger to leading franchises and as the artist’s fanart shows she definitely could capture the character’s essence both in look and with what would undoubtedly be an incredible performance.

Is Keke Palmer joining the MCU?

Now that we’ve established how incredible Keke Palmer could be in the role of Rogue within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, what exactly are the odds she might be interested in a role in the MCU?

First, it’s important to note that Marvel has not yet announced any X-Men projects and therefore has not revealed any casting decisions regarding which actors will be playing the franchise’s most iconic heroes. As such, it’s uncertain whether Palmer is even on the radar of the casting department at Marvel Studios for a potential role within the MCU.

While Palmer is not currently attached to the role of Rogue or any Marvel character for that matter, she is very much aware of fans’ desire to see her join the MCU and is interested in tackling the character!

Last September, a fan video went viral on TikTok in which a fan made a strong pitch to Marvel regarding why Palmer should be considered for the role of Rogue. It caught Palmer’s attention and excitedly responded by saying, “Come on agentttttttt,” making it clear she’d be game for joining the MCU as Rogue.

One month later, Palmer dressed up as Rogue for Halloween doubling down on her interest in the role. “There’s nothing I won’t do for you guys! In your Marvel Universe, I’ll always be Rogue,” Palmer wrote when sharing photos of her in costume.

Clearly, Palmer is game for joining the MCU should an opportunity present itself and we can only hope that Marvel takes notice of that interest soon. No matter whether she plays Rogue or another character of Marvel’s choice, there’s no denying she’d be a great addition to the MCU!
