The Mandalorian season 3 is not coming to Disney Plus in February 2023

Disney Plus will have many new titles this month but The Mandalorian season 3 is not one of them.

The Force is going to reawaken this year when The Mandalorian season 3 finally premieres on Disney Plus. The Star Wars offshoot became the streamer’s first hit but it has been off screens for over two years now as work on the third season took a lot longer than most expected.

In that time, the Disney Plus landscape has evolved immensely, with Marvel Studios claiming dominance over the streamer with a multitude of TV shows set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Adding to that, a host of new Star Wars shows have also explored new layers of the franchise, as Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, and The Bad Batch have all premiered on the service in that time.

The Mandalorian‘s return is almost upon us, but don’t be expecting it to premiere on Disney Plus in February. While the streamer did initially announce a February return window, it was subsequently changed. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too much longer.

The Mandalorian season 3 release date

The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere on Disney Plus on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Considering that the Star Wars Twitter account announced last year that a February return was on the horizon, one day outside of the month really isn’t bad at all.

Very little remains known about the plot of The Mandalorian season 3 at this point, but the trailers have teased a memorable comeback for the original Disney+ show. And even though it’s been over two years since new episodes of the series have aired, we did get the chance to catch up with Din Djarin and Grogu/Baby Yoda in spinoff The Book of Boba Fett in December 2021 (so make sure you watch that before season 3 premieres if you haven’t already!).

We don’t have long to go until we can return to that galaxy so far, far away.
