Once again, Marvel Comics is letting the fans vote for the next team of X-Men. Here they are, their powers, how they help the team and readers, and their odds of winning.

Since the Dawn of X, the mutants of Krakoa have been trying new things. Among them is voting for their premiere team, the X-Men. In the real world, it was the Marvel Comics fans that voted in one of the new members. The first time, Polaris was voted on. After that, it was Firestar.

This year, a new group of X-Men related characters and former members are on the ballot. Here they are, their powers, and their chances of being voted in.

Dazzler

Powers: Energy Projection, Energy Blasts, Energy Manipulation

In Leah Williams’ X-Terminators, you get to see how fun she can be. However, she brings more than just fun. Dazzler constantly shows how creative and powerful she is (something else on display in X-Terminators). It’s shocking she hasn’t been upgraded to an omega level mutant. If she continues to improve, she may become one.

Chance of winning: 15%

She’s popular among Marvel Comics and X-Men fans, but not among the novice.

Cannonball

Powers: Thermo-Chemical Energy Field Propulsion

One of the many things Cannonball brings to the table is experience. He’s been on the X-Men, X-Force, New Mutants, the Avengers, A.I.M., and is currently with his Shi’ar Imperial Guard wife, Smasher. He can lead if needed. Cyclops and Jean Grey would likely groom him to take over one day. Too bad he may not be popular enough to get the opportunity.

Chance of winning: 5%

Juggernaut

Powers: Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Stamina, Irresistible Force Embodiment

Juggernaut has been on a couple of premiere X-Men teams, Excalibur, and he’s currently on the Legion of X roster. That means he’s familiar with how the mutant squads work. The X-Men lost their powerhouse when Rogue left and Juggernaut would fit that role. Plus he adds fun to the roster. It would also be nice to see Juggernaut work with Jean and Cyclops since he was one of their first antagonists.

Chance of winning: 19%

Frenzy

Powers: Superhuman speed, strength, durability, and stamina.

Frenzy is an underrated character. If anyone deserves to be on the new roster, it’s her. She’s been a villain for most of her time in Marvel Comics. When Wolverine left Utopia, she joined the Jean Grey School of Higher Learning. Now she’s working with Arrako and Storm. This proves that Frenzy can be more than a villain. This writer would love for her to be their newest member, but it’s unlikely. It’s unfortunate since she adds a different way of looking at things. A fresh pair of eyes could be helpful.

Chance of winning: 1%

Prodigy

Powers: Telepathic ability to absorb and mimic the knowledge and skills from the minds of the people in close proximity to him

This writer isn’t sure if Prodigy has his powers back. Nevertheless, he’s proven that he’s useful. In X-Factor by Leah Williams, he was putting clues together to help solve crimes. He may not be the inventor that Forge is, but at least he’s trustworthy. And, like Frenzy, he adds something new to the X-Men. He could be like Oracle. Instead of being on the field, he’s at the treehouse organizing the roster. An extra set of eyes could do wonders for putting teammates in the right place.

Chance of winning: 10%

Jubilee

Powers: Generate pyrotechnic energy plasmoids from her hands

Jubilee has been adored since the 1990s because of her cheerful and optimistic attitude mixed with her toughness. She’s been all over the place for decades. Missions with Wolverine, being a vampire, and running around with Excalibur are only a few of her many ventures. It’s almost a certainty that she’s going to win the popular vote.

Over the last few years, Jubilee has gotten better with her powers. Fireworks are only a small part of what she can do. If Synch remains on the X-Men, he will use her powers in ways she didn’t know possible. This will force Jubilee to explore her abilities more. And, if you read X-Terminators, you’ll notice she’s already doing that.

Chance of winning: 50%
