Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Yondu
It would be nice to say the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been consistently good, but they haven’t. As we’ve seen over the years, bad teams don’t stay that way forever
Yondu has two things in common with Tampa Bay. First, the string of bad luck. He lost a lot of good men in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.1 in the fight against Ronan and his army. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Yondu lost his entire crew through mutiny and died saving Star-Lord. Also, Yondu is a pirate like Tampa Bay’s mascot.
Here’s a proposal, ditch Captain Fear for Yondu. Sure, Yondu died. He gets a pass because it happened while he was saving the universe. Also, how cool would it be to see Yondu use his arrow every time the Buccaneers score? That’s not to say that Captain Fear isn’t a good mascot. But Yondu would be a million times better.
I’m sure that Buccaneers legend Warren Sapp would be happy with this as well. However, there may be some tension between the two. My money is on Sapp winning that fight. Especially if this was in his prime.
