Emma Corrin has joined the cast of Deadpool 3. Who are they and what character will they play?

Deadpool 3 could be Marvel Studios’ most anticipated project. A lot of it had to do with the creative team understanding the character and what the audience wanted from the first two movies. It’s also one of the few Marvel Comics franchises that 20th Century Fox got right.

In 2022, Hugh Jackman announced he’d be returning as Wolverine. A moment that both shocked and excited fans. Jackman may be the first big name to be announced for the threequel, but he wasn’t the last. Actually, another actor has been added to the cast. In a recent Twitter post, Ryan Reynolds welcomed Emma Corrin to the Deadpool family.

Emma Corrin is a Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe Award winning actor. They won for their role in the highly revered Netflix project The Crown. According to Deadline, Marvel wanted Emma Corrin on this project since the holidays last year. After a few months of waiting, they’re officially part of the crew.

Who could Emma Corrin play in Deadpool 3?

Emma Corrin’s role hasn’t been announced. Considering Deadpool’s list of characters isn’t very long, there aren’t many people they could be playing. Although, Deadpool being part of the X-Men family tree makes that list a little longer.

The first person that came to mind was Lady Deadpool. Since Wolverine is involved, Deadpool 3 could involve traveling throughout the multiverse. Especially since Wade probably still has Cable’s time traveling watch. Since Emma Corrin is non-binary, they could opt for the character to just go by “Deadpool”. That would be a major step forward for representation in comic book movies. And while Lady Deadpool may be on the same side as Wade in the comics, but that can easily be changed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, if they want the character to be the villain of the piece.

Shiklah is also an option. They could be Wade’s love interest while also leading to the introduction of Dracula and a bunch of other monsters. Everyone would love to see Wolverine fight a Werewolf, Frankenstein’s monster, Dracula, or dozens of other movie theater monsters. Also, Shiklah did betray Wade in the end. This could happen in the MCU.

Shatterstar was killed during Deadpool 2. In the comics, Shatterstar is a clone of Longshot, but also his father (time travel is weird). That means Shatterstar could return after being cloned. Instead of coming back as Lewis Tan, maybe Shatterstar comes back as Emma Corrin. A few alterations to their DNA and Shatterstar can look completely different. Plus, we can assume the Shatterstar would want revenge.

Staying on Mojoworld, Emma Corrin could play two separate characters. First, there’s Mojo’s assassin Spiral. This could leave them to be the person Wolverine fights towards the end of the movie. Or, why not Mojo? Having them play someone like that could shake things up. Everyone probably expects Emma Corrin to play someone who fights. Mojo is mostly a disgusting, reality controlling tyrant who runs his world like a TV executive. It could show another side of Emma Corrin that fans may not have seen yet. A comedic and goofy persona.

What if Emma Corrin is Death? They’d shine as Death. Death is a character that’s crucial to the Deadpool story. They’re also in love with each other. It’s a perfect love story with Vanessa likely remaining dead. Lastly, since this may be Ryan Reynolds’s last time playing the Merc with a Mouth, Death could be looking over Wade’s shoulder the entire movie. Death being a major character would be a very Deadpool way to end Ryan Reynold’s time as Wade Wilson. A few changes and Death can be both the love interest and the villain.

T-Ray is an option as well. Long time Deadpool fans know T-Ray as someone who believes they’re Wade Wilson. The only problem with this is no one knows who T-Ray is. More importantly, even the people who know won’t care. The good news is that it’s easily explained with the right creative team. Look at what James Gunn did for the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Whoever Emma Corrin plays in Deadpool 3, the creative team hasn’t let fans down yet. It’s doubtful they’ll start now.
