Who plays Tommy and Maria in HBO’s The Last of Us?
The Last of Us episode 6 introduces us to more new characters (and one returning one). Who are the actors who play Tommy and Maria?
Joel and Ellie have been on the hunt for a Fireflies camp that might be able to synthesize a cure from the latter’s blood. Ellie’s immunity has been driving the pair of them to survive, but it’s clear that they have grown fond of each other along the way.
He might not admit it, but Joel is starting to see Ellie like family and he needs family right now. He’s also searching for his brother Tommy, who we haven’t seen on-screen since the pilot episode, but that search will seemingly bear some fruit in episode 6 when he and Ellie cross paths with Tommy and Maria.

Tommy Miller is portrayed by Gabriel Luna. If you recognize him, first and foremost that’s probably because he appeared in the first episode of The Last of Us in the same role. But Luna has had many other credits to his name, as he is a veteran of the big screen and the small one. As far as movies go, he has appeared in the likes of Transpecos, Bernie, Terminator: Dark Fate, Balls Out, Gravy, and Freeheld, while on TV he can be seen in Wicked City, Matador, and Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD as the iconic Marvel Comics character Ghost Rider.
Maria is played by Rutina Wesley, who is most likely known for her performance as Tara Thornton on HBO’s True Blood, as well as her leading performance in Oprah Winfrey Network original series Queen Sugar. She has also had a recurring role NBC’s Hannibal, appeared as comic book character Liza Warner / Lady Cop in The CW’s Arrow and played Michonne’s old friend Jocelyn in The Walking Dead. She also appeared in movies such as How She Move, California Winter, and The Perfect Guy.
