The Flash movie trailer offered some major hints of what’s to come including how many Flashes and timelines there are in the movie

The official trailer for The Flash was shown during the Super Bowl LVII. It was released ahead of the event on the official DC Entertainment YouTube channel and has now accumulated over six million views.

For our previous breakdown of the film’s trailer that breaks everything scene by scene, you can find the link in one of the highlights in this description. As for the breakdown, this is a speculative op-ed and in this write-up, this writer will explain how many Flashes (including Batmen) there actually are including how many timelines will be displayed in the upcoming movie.

Referring to the trailer and pre-existing information that was made available to the public I have come to the conclusion there are actually four alternate timelines, three different versions of The Flash, and two Batmen. This theory is based on the possibility there is another unseen player in the shadows other than General Zod and Faora-UI involved and reinforces the idea the Snyder Cut is canon before the eventual reset.

There is the original “Knightmare” timeline that becomes erased, our mainline DCEU timeline aka the Snyderverse, and the “Burtonverse” timeline where Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne long since retired as Batman, Younger Barry, and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl are from. Lastly, our prime DCU timeline is changed once our Flash eventually attempts to return things back to the way they were before he traveled through time. Look out for a thorough explainer of my theory in the next op-ed.

Flash from the Knightmare timeline is the one who reached out to Ben Affleck’s Wayne in his cave as seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice he came from a future where Darkseid killed Lois Lane and who would become Dark Flash (based on promotional material) which sets up the events in the movie.

What are your thoughts on this little trailer breakdown? Do you agree with my theory? How many Flashes and timelines do you believe are there within the movie? Sound off in the comments below!
