The Last of Us season 1 ends tonight with what will definitely be a jaw-dropping finale. What time can you expect it to air on HBO and HBO Max?

Over the past eight weeks, TV viewers have watched in awe at the grandeur of HBO’s The Last of Us. Those who had played the video game already had high expectations, hoping that the series would do its source material justice. Those without that knowledge were just hoping for a great TV show. All were satisfied, and so much more.

The Last of Us has been a thrill-ride since it premiered on-screens, and the excitement for it has not stopped throughout its run. This is evidenced alone by the fact that the viewing figures of each episode are continuing to go up on a weekly basis, which is pretty much unheard of in today’s day and age. Simply put: People are loving The Last of Us.

No doubt they will love the season finale as well, with excitement to see how the first season ends at an all-time high this weekend. If you’re ready for answers, let’s start with what time you can tune into it at.

What time is The Last of Us episode 9 on HBO tonight? (March 12)

The season 1 finale of The Last of Us airs on HBO tonight, Sunday March 12 2023, at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time for those on the East Coast, 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time for viewers watching on the West Coast, and 8:00 p.m. Central Time for fans on the Central Time zone. It will also be available to stream on HBO Max at the exact same time in various locations around the world.

Titled “Look For The Light”, the finale will presumably see Joel and Ellie make their way to the Firefly base of operations that they have been looking for since the beginning of the series. Not only is that implied by the title (which is the second part of the Fireflies’ “When You’re Lost in the Darkness, Look For The Light” mantra), but it would make sense to end the first chapter of the show here since that’s what the first season has been all about.

This is understandably the final episode of the show’s first season, but the good news is that it will return for a second season on HBO and HBO Max in the future.
