2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

  • Release Year: 2011
  • Director: David Yates
  • Cast: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, John Hurt, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, David Thewlis, and Julie Walters

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is the eighth and final movie of the franchise. It’s all been building to this, and for the most part, this movie doesn’t disappoint.

In the movie, Harry, Ron, and Hermione continue their quest to find the remaining horcruxes, which leads them back to Hogwarts for an epic final battle with Voldemort’s force and the Order of the Phoenix plus the Hogwarts students willing to lay down their lives to stop Voldemort and save Harry.

There’s so much ground to cover in this movie, but I still feel like it would have been better served as Deathly Hallows being one complete movie instead of splitting it into two parts. If it could be done with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, they could have figured out how to make Deathly Hallows into one movie. There’s also the thing about a mother’s love protecting Harry that they just skimmed over that was rather important in the story. I also hate when Harry and Voldemort, like, jump off the building and it’s this weird mashup of their faces. What was that about? But, those are really the only few flaws I see with this movie. Oh, and maybe the time jump!

Overall, The Deathly Hallows is a really good conclusion for this film series and story.
