The Flash season 9 will be taking a brief hiatus from The CW. When can we expect the show to return for the first of its final five episodes?

There are just five episodes left of The Flash. The veteran Arrowverse show is airing its ninth and final season, which is set to bring about the end of its decade-long run. Given how historic its run has been, that will undoubtedly mark the end of an era for DC, the comic book genre, and television in general.

Its ninth season has been airing over the past 10 weeks, with Barry Allen, Iris West-Allen, and their Central City-based Team Flash all getting up to more adventures as more bad guys made their presence felt.

That said, the show is taking a short break from The CW. Here’s when you can expect it to return.

The Flash season 9 episode 9 release date

The Flash season 9 returns to The CW on Wednesday, April 26, at 8:00 p.m. ET. It will air its ninth episode, which is set to be one of the most special episodes the series has ever produced.

Titled “It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To”, the episode will see Stephen Amell reprise his iconic Arrow role as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow one more time. As the final season of The Flash marks the end of the Arrowverse, it’s only fitting that Oliver returns one more time.

He won’t be the only one joining the party, though, as David Ramsey will also be reprising his Arrow role as John Diggle, and The Flash stars Keiynan Lonsdale and Sendhil Ramamurthy will both be back in their respective roles as Wally West/Kid Flash and Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork.

It’s one big farewell to the Arrowverse just ahead of The Flash‘s final chapter, and you can see it all on April 26.
