There are a lot of stories going on in this season of The Mandalorian, the most important being what’s next for the Mandalorians. Episode 6 episode begins with a rogue set of mercenary Mandalorians collecting a bounty. Among them was one of Bo-Katan’s former teammates Koska Reeves (played by Mercedes Varnado). This comes into play towards the end of the episode.

Later Din Djarin and Bo-Katan are on a mission on a luxurious and peaceful planet, Plazir. There, they’re commissioned to find out why the robots on the planet have been malfunctioning. Come to find out that the person in charge of the droids (Commissioner Helgait played by Christopher Lloyd) was causing the droids to become violent. Having saved the planet, Bo-Katan and Din are now always welcomed on planet Plazir.

The same mercenaries from the beginning of the episode were protecting Planet Plazir. Bo-Katan challenges their leader in combat and wins. The mercenaries still didn’t accept her as their leader because she doesn’t wield the Darksaber. That’s when Din makes a declaration. He proves that Bo-Katan is the rightful leader. Din states that Bo-Katan defeated the one who beat him. That means she’s beaten him. Din hands her the Darksaber and the episode concludes.

This was the first time Bo-Katan and Din truly worked together and it was perfect. Their opposite approaches to problems balance things out. Without each other, the initial mission wouldn’t have been completed. Does this mean that thinking Bo-Katan has evil motivations was wrong? Is she really doing what’s best for The Mandalorians?
