1. Smallville

While it may have been overshadowed by other superhero shows in recent years, Smallville remains one of the best superhero shows ever made, and not just for its focus on Clark Kent’s journey.

One of the reasons Smallville stands out is the way it explores the emotional and psychological aspects of Clark’s transformation into a superhero. The show delves into his struggles with identity, morality, and responsibility, and how these factors shape him into the hero we know and love. The writers also did an excellent job of humanizing the supporting cast, including Lana Lang, Chloe Sullivan, and Lex Luthor, giving the show a unique depth and richness.

Smallville also had fantastic visuals and action sequences, which were way ahead of their time. The show used state-of-the-art CGI and practical effects to bring Clark’s powers to life in a way that felt realistic and exciting. The fight scenes were brilliantly choreographed, and the cinematography was top-notch, making Smallville an absolute joy to watch.

To some, it might seem crazy to include Smallville at the top of this list given we technically never say its Clark suit up until the series finale; however, that’s what made the show so special. It explored the story of a young Clark Kent before he became the iconic Man of Steel, which helped to ground the character and make him more relatable despite his otherworldly abilities.

Smallville‘s mix of action, drama, and character development made it one of the best superhero shows ever made. Its influence on the genre is undeniable, and it will always hold a special place in the hearts of fans of the Man of Steel.
