4. Marvel’s The Avengers
Marvel’s The Avengers premiered in 2012, and it’s part of Phase One of the MCU. The Avengers is the first official Avengers movie, and it’s also the first time we see all of the first MCU heroes together and fighting against a common enemy, Loki (Tom Hiddleston).
In the film, Thor teams up with Steve Rogers/Captain America, Tony Stark/Iron Man, Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Bruce Banner/Hulk, and Clint Barton/Hawkeye, along with SHIELD, to stop Loki from invading and conquering Earth using the tesseract.
Thor is a crucial member of the Avengers, and it’s the first time we see them all working together. Obviously, there were some growing pains, and some pains that remain after all this time, but this is where it all truly started for the MCU. And, Thor’s role in that can’t be overstated. Hemsworth is also so good as Thor. It’s clear this wouldn’t have been as successful with basically anyone else playing the God of Thunder in the MCU.
