4. Marvel’s The Avengers
Marvel’s The Avengers is the first Avengers movie, and it’s the first time we see Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow team up with Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and SHIELD.
In the film, Natasha and the rest of the Avengers learn to trust each other and work together to stop a common foe: Loki, Thor’s brother who is planning to take over Earth as its supreme ruler. While Natasha might not have all the physical tools that the rest of the Avengers like Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, and Hulk have, Black Widow uses her expert fighting skills to hold her own and her experience as a spy and assassin to help hold the team together, gather intel, and put together the plan to stop Loki. We also see Natasha start to form relationships and lead the team through stressful situations as we see with Hulk during the Battle of New York.
The Avengers is Scarlet Johansson’s second Marvel movie following her debut in Iron Man 2, which was released two years before The Avengers in 2010. The first of the Avengers movies was released in 2012. There’s no doubt this is one of the best MCU movies we’ve seen so far. It’s so nostalgic to watch the origin of the Avengers and the team that kickstarted it all.
Up next is Avengers: Infinity War!
