1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1

It should be no surprise that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 is the No. 1 movie on the list of the best Chris Pratt Marvel movies and shows. It premiered in 2014 and is the first movie of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, which likely comes to an end with the third and final movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, in May 2023. James Gunn wrote and directed the movie.

The first Guardians movie is part of Phase Two of the MCU, and it tells the story of Peter Quill/Star-Lord, a former Ravager, who finds a mysterious orb for The Collector, but he quickly finds himself in the middle of a crisis with interplanetary consequences. After getting captured, Peter teams with Rocket, Groot, Drax, and Gamora to escape the Kyln, a space prison, and they work together to stop Ronan from using what was in the orb to destroy Xandar.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 is one of my favorite MCU movies. Stylistically, it’s different than any of the other Guardians movies we’d seen at that point. It’s so funny, but it’s also full of so much heart and tension. You won’t be able to stop watching. Oh, and it features an incredible soundtrack.
