Henry Golding

While Henry Golding has not done any superhero movies (although he was in a GI Joe movie, so that could be considered a hero movie), that might just be a good thing. For me, his role in Crazy Rich Asians was enough proof that he has the charisma and charm of a superhero, while also having a presence on the screen that is hard to look away from. He has what it takes to carry an entire movie and make us believe that he is the man of the hour (or three).

Although Golding is not a blonde, there is just something about him that makes me think that we could see a dark-haired Booster Gold and absolutely believe it! Obviously, we don’t need to have a blonde Michael Jon Carter (Booster), as hair color is perhaps one of the least important aspects of a superhero. That being said, it has definitely been one of those things we have been on the lookout for. (Maybe we could even get a blonde Henry Golding…and we wouldn’t be mad at that.)

Even without the blonde hair, we still believe that Henry Golding can pull off the idea that he has superhuman levels of durability, speed, strength, and even the ability to fly. Plus, Booster Gold is an expert in hand-to-hand combat, which is something we have technically seen in some capacity when he was in the GI Joe Origins movie (was it really him? Probably not, but it still counts).

At this point, it just feels like he would make a great Booster Gold, a reformed showboating superhero. He has what it takes to be a star of the DC Universe. And that is probably the most important thing in terms of this casting. He has what it takes to lead a movie or a TV series and make us believe that he is the star of the show.
