5. Katheryn Winnick

This is no surprise. Over the years Katheryn Winnick has become a household name for her remarkable performance in Vikings. Fans believe that the actress is destined for a comic book role. In particular, many fans have been pushing for Winnick to play the role of Black Canary. With her martial arts background and stunning screen presence, it’s easy to see why she would be the perfect fit for the role.

As fans of Birds of Prey know, Cathy Yin’s film teased the idea of Black Canary’s mother being a former superhero. A prequel film set 20+ years before the events of Birds of Prey, with Winnick playing the role of Black Canary, could be just what fans need to dive deeper into the character’s backstory.

With Winnick as Black Canary in the prequel would allow her to showcase her impressive martial arts skills on the big screen.

While Jurnee Smollett’s current portrayal of Black Canary is one that fans adore, seeing Winnick as her mother could add a new level of depth to the character. With Winnick’s ability to embody strong, powerful women on screen, she could bring a fresh perspective to Black Canary, and add a new layer of complexity to the character. Winnick’s impressive resume, combined with her martial arts background, make her a perfect fit for Black Canary.
