5. Tengen Uzui (The Sound Hashira)

There’s no doubt about it, Tengen Uzui is a Hashira who gives his all and is willing to fight to the very death. This fact alone makes him one of the strongest Hashira there is. But doesn’t, however, make him stand above our stronger soldiers.

Tengen’s abilities give him superhuman agility as well as heightened senses. These strengths enabled him to put up an exceptionally fair fight against Gyutaro and his younger sister, Daki, an insanely powerful Upper-Rank duo. And while he was victorious against these demons, he struggled greatly, losing his eye and arm in the first heat of the fight. (Not to mention losing these body parts nearly rendered him useless when it came to protecting the Entertainment District from peril.)

What’s more, being that he needed the help of three other demon slayers (multiple years his junior) and his three wives (who don’t have any particularly game-changing abilities), it’s safe to say that even at his fullest potential, Tengen wouldn’t be able to deal with even one Upper-Rank demon on his own without losing his life in the process.

Tengen’s skills weathered the storm that was Gyutaro and Daki. But had those Upper-Rank demons been higher in Muzan’s ranks, we don’t think he would’ve walked out of the battle alive.

What The Sound Hashira Needs to Work On: Tengen is someone who we seldom see by himself. While relying on others is something we all must do eventually, we believe Tengen working on how he can overcome obstacles by himself since this would serve him better than depending on his wives or his gym rats.

Also, his sound ability may have favored him in the beginning, but it was his swords that secured the win. Perhaps giving his swordsmanship a little more attention will give him the upper hand.
